the good rainy month that i await every year has gone past.
it’s really wet this time around.though i’ve always been caught in the rain, i like it no other way.
comparing to last year.things have matured much. about myself, physical changes are imminent i suppose.other than my forever thin body, things around have changed.how the hair is managed and perceived, how things around you are managed.the sports-more to running and football.the guitar has evolved into my hands much since then too. people mature with age.
having watched The Machinist, it’s cool to know how similar i am to Trevor. the way of life, the conflicts, the escapism, the skeleton frame. Whenever i am eating a big meal alone, i mostly picture myself as him. Friends, I would eat more.
November too is time for the annual Penang Bridge International Marathon. the bridge never fails to captivate. the design and terrain. how the long stretch of asphalt is meant to grab you by the collar when you set steps on it. nothing else matters other than to complete your race. one day, of course i wish to complete a 42.195 k.
The guitar playing has come a long way for me i suppose – 2 years. reviewing my progress thus far. i’m really glad that i’ve explored more modes and scales and being able to incorporate them into random jams. i have always liked the Dorian mode, the Minor scale and it’s derivative the harmonic minor. i have always like dorians in blues jam.the minors serve as mood selectors. to turn the mood when used.
my speed of playing is still underaverage as i would like to say. the problem faced by many guitarist.i am at a slow rate of pushing my playing into hyperspeed. so i try to get as much speed exercises everytime i pickup the guitar.apart from that, fretboard knowledge has improved by far compared to last year. two octaves and 3 octaves runs are just so good when u can play them well. not forgetting alt picking each time. so thats guitar.
November is more New Year to me than New Years Day.haha.
